Maple and Aave Unite to Bridge Institutional Finance With DeFi
Maple and Aave have entered a strategic partnership aimed at connecting institutional capital with decentralized finance (DeFi), marking a major step toward integrating traditional finance with onchain liquidity.
Aave Integrates Maple’s Institutional Collateral to Boost Liquidity
Maple, a leading onchain asset manager, and Aave, the largest decentralized lending protocol by total value locked (TVL), announced a partnership designed to bring institutional assets to decentralized finance (DeFi).
In the release shared with Bitcoin.com News, the collaboration aims to unite deep liquidity with high-quality credit infrastructure, forming a foundation for the next stage of DeFi’s evolution. Through the alliance, Maple will introduce institutional-grade collateral backed by consistent and trusted yield into Aave’s markets.
These assets are expected to enhance capital efficiency, the announcement noted, stabilize borrowing demand, and strengthen overall protocol liquidity. The integration allows Aave’s ecosystem to tap into Maple’s established network of allocators and borrowers representing billions in deployable capital.
“This integration connects two critical pieces of infrastructure: deep liquidity and high-quality credit,” said Sid Powell, CEO of Maple. He added that aligning Maple and Aave “lays the foundation for sustainable growth in decentralized finance, where institutional capital and decentralized protocols work together at scale.”
Aave founder Stani Kulechov described the partnership as a way to “bring together Maple’s high-quality institutional assets with Aave’s deep liquidity and unmatched scale,” enabling institutions to gain more utility and better capital management options.
The rollout begins with syrupUSDT launching on Aave’s Plasma instance, followed by syrupUSDC on its core market. The initiative will expand over time, deepening integration across multiple Aave markets and further embedding Maple’s institutional products within decentralized ecosystems.
Maple, founded in 2021, has facilitated billions in onchain lending over the past nine months, solidifying its position as the largest onchain asset manager. By combining Maple’s institutional-grade yield strategies with Aave’s global liquidity, the two protocols are establishing a scalable bridge between traditional finance and decentralized markets.
