Odaily Planet Daily News reports that according to AXIOS, Trump stated in an interview on Tuesday that if negotiations with Iran fail, he is considering sending another aircraft carrier strike group to the Middle East to prepare for possible military action. The US and Iran resumed negotiations in Oman last Friday, marking their first return to the negotiating table since June last year. Meanwhile, Trump is advancing a large-scale military buildup in the Gulf region. Trump said he expects a second round of US-Iran talks to take place next week. He stated, “We have a fleet heading to the region, and another may also be departing.” An American official confirmed that discussions about deploying a second aircraft carrier strike group to the region have indeed taken place. However, Trump also expressed optimism about diplomatic efforts, saying Iran “really wants to reach an agreement,” and under military pressure, their willingness to engage in negotiations is more serious than ever before. “Last time, they didn’t believe I would really act; they misjudged. This time, the negotiations are very different.”
