US media: Thousands of ballots missing in a county in Pennsylvania

Abstract generation in progress

On November 2, U.S. media reported that a state judge in Pennsylvania found that a mail-in ballot provider contracted with the Erie County Board of Elections failed to meet demand, and 13,000 to 17,000 Erie County voters may not receive their ballots in time for next Tuesday’s general election. Judge David Ridge ordered the Election Commission to remain open on Friday and Saturday so that voters can request and fill out their ballots. In addition to the thousands of voters who may not have received their ballots, the judges found that about 1,200 out-of-state voters who registered to vote in Erie County may not have received mail-in ballots. Considering that the “unknown number” of people that the judge said may not have been counted, he raised the possibility that more than 20,000 votes may not have reached the voters.
