A recent misconception going viral: seeing that Walrus has privacy features, people automatically assume that WAL token transfers are anonymous. This idea needs to be corrected.

To be honest, Walrus's Seal protocol is designed to encrypt data files, protecting the privacy of stored content. But this doesn't mean your token flows are hidden. WAL is essentially a standard token asset running on Sui; every transfer and staking operation is recorded on the blockchain explorer, clearly visible. How much you transferred, to whom, and the storage fees paid—all are transparent.

In other words, Walrus can help you protect the content of your files from being peeked at, but if you don't want to expose your asset size or payment records, WAL can't really help. Confusing these two concepts is actually more dangerous—it neither protects privacy nor prevents all your on-chain activities from being linked together.

So, think carefully before using it: Walrus is a tool for data privacy protection, not a means to launder funds. Getting this right is crucial.

Ha, ha, ha, someone got confused again. Walrus manages data privacy, but it can't control what's in your wallet. This needs to be made clear. --- Every day, people treat the Seal protocol as a money laundering tool. Wake up, brothers, blockchain explorers can see everything clearly. --- So the more features there are, the easier it is to be over-interpreted. Sad. --- That's why so many people have high expectations for Walrus—they're all hoping to hide their money, haha. --- This definitely needs to be popularized so as not to cause regulatory issues again. --- It seems I still need to read more documentation, rather than just listening to community hype. --- Got it. Data privacy ≠ fund privacy. They are two different things. --- This misunderstanding has caused a lot of fuss. No wonder Walrus has been so hotly discussed lately. --- Agreed. If you get it wrong, the risks can be huge.

Here we go again, someone is treating the Seal protocol as a fund mixer, truly unbelievable. If you ask me, it's as absurd as using a VPN as a money laundering tool. Data privacy ≠ token anonymity, these two things are fundamentally different. WAL on the Sui chain is just an ordinary token; everything can be seen with a quick browser check. If you want to hide money, you're looking in the wrong place. Confusing these two concepts is actually more dangerous. Poor privacy protection can expose all your on-chain activities, which is a lose-lose situation.

Another group of people got chopped for leek farming, confusing privacy and anonymity is really outrageous --- Walrus is a file safe, not a wallet, is it really that hard to understand --- On-chain transfers are transparent, still want privacy, wake up everyone --- People ask every day if Walrus can be used for money laundering, I just laugh --- Data privacy ≠ fund privacy, why do so many people get this logic wrong --- I believe in Walrus's technology, but don’t have illusions about its privacy capabilities --- Really, many projects rely on this kind of concept to confuse and harvest retail investors --- Things on Sui chain are crystal clear, if you want anonymity, you still need to find something like Monero --- This wave of popular science is very timely, so that no one will be duped into buying in later --- So Walrus is suitable for storing files, not for your little secrets

According to section 3.1 of the Seal protocol in the white paper, this misconception is indeed widespread—privacy protection ≠ transaction anonymity. You all need to distinguish between the two.

Haha, another wave of retail investors got cut. It's really outrageous to confuse the Seal protocol with token privacy. Someone wants to use Walrus for money laundering again... Wake up, everything is transparent on the chain. Seeing privacy features just short-circuits my brain. This is the tuition fee you have to pay. Wait, does anyone really believe this? Searching Sui browser reveals everything. Privacy protection data ≠ privacy-protected funds. It's such a simple concept, yet some get it wrong. So Walrus is just a file encryption tool, don’t get it twisted, everyone. Are you stupid? Still thinking of anonymous on-chain transfers? Dream on. This batch of retail investors really can’t handle basic concepts.

Oops, another group of people got it wrong. Walrus privacy ≠ token privacy. This logic is really mind-boggling. Profit is profit. I'm already tired of those confusing concept-mixing statements. File encryption is for file security; on-chain flow remains transparent. How can some people still not distinguish this? WAL is just a standard token. Privacy features are not invisibility cloaks. Don't overthink it. Now, the confusion of concepts has been exposed even more thoroughly, truly a scene of insider self-exposure. Seal protocol does not equal asset concealment. Such basic knowledge still needs to be explained? It's really speechless. Before YOLO every day, first understand how to actually use what you have, everyone.
