The storage project that recently emerged in the Sui ecosystem has actually made quite a few breakthroughs on the technical level. It adopts the RedStuff 2D erasure coding scheme, which is completely different from traditional storage logic.

The most intuitive comparison is the redundancy factor. Filecoin requires 25x redundancy to ensure data security, while this project only needs 4-5x, cutting costs by over 80%. This difference is huge for large-scale storage applications.

Even more interesting is the data recovery mechanism. There's no need to download the entire file; a single slice can complete the recovery operation, directly halving bandwidth consumption. Coupled with its layered architecture design—off-chain data storage and on-chain index storage—it ensures data immutability while minimizing on-chain Gas costs. This approach is indeed impressive.

In terms of verification costs, the asynchronous challenge proof mechanism allows nodes to not respond in real-time, reducing verification overhead to about 1/10 of traditional schemes. The operational costs for nodes are greatly reduced, which explains why so many nodes are willing to join the network now.

Regarding ecosystem vitality, token design is closely tied to technical depth. Node staking and storage payments all require this token, so the higher the ecosystem activity, the scarcer the token becomes. This value cycle's stability is worth paying attention to. From a technical difficulty perspective, the next wave of opportunities in decentralized storage is indeed worth monitoring.

ngl the 4-5x redundancy vs filecoin's 25x is honestly just mathematically superior... if you actually analyze the data, this isn't even close

Filecoin is directly being beaten down; cutting 80% of the costs is no joke.

Wow, RedStuff really is powerful; Filecoin is being rubbed into the ground.

Whoa, 25x redundancy cut down to 4-5x? Filecoin is completely being beaten down. RedStuff really has some substance; reducing costs by 80%—who can stand that? Asynchronous proof with 1/10 of the overhead? Now node operation and maintenance costs can really breathe. Tokens tightly bound to technology; this design truly captures the pulse of the ecosystem. Wait, could this project be the next dark horse? Or is it just another wave of cutting leeks? Bandwidth halved—this is what I’m most interested in. How did you guys do it? Sui has released new features this month? The ecosystem is really becoming active. Storing data off-chain and storing indexes on-chain—this is a real gas-saving trick. Sounds good, but I’ll wait until it launches before commenting—don’t want to get caught with egg on my face. This wave of technological iteration doesn’t feel exaggerated; worth a deep dive. If data recovery can really be this efficient, distributed storage might be reshuffled. Token value cycle stability? That depends on the actual activity level of the ecosystem—don’t just look at the white paper.
