Is the sell-off storm a top signal or a shakeout script?
The market always needs a narrative: during an uptrend, it's "institutional entry"; during a pullback, it's "whales fleeing." Discussions around Vitalik Buterin and some funds reducing their holdings are essentially a game of sentiment.
From a game theory perspective, large-scale selling doesn't necessarily indicate long-term bearishness; it might just be locking in profits. Meanwhile, retail panic selling often amplifies volatility. Short-term prices are driven by emotion, medium-term by capital structure, and long-term by technology and ecosystem development.
Ethereum's competitors are numerous, and the narrative cycle is changing. But as long as on-chain development activity, staking ratios, and ecosystem cash flow continue to grow, phased reductions are more like market rotation.
Don't idolize assets, and don't see reductions as betrayal. Capital markets don't have eternal believers—only constantly rebalanced chips.
What do you think? Is this a top signal or just an "emotional check-up" on the way to a bull market?
