During the Spring Festival, the average daily number of tax refunds for departures from Shanghai increased threefold year-on-year

During the Spring Festival period of 2026 (February 15 to February 23), Shanghai port handled a total of 1.131 million inbound and outbound travelers, averaging 125,700 per day, a 2.7% increase compared to the Spring Festival period of 2025. The total number of inbound and outbound transportation vehicles reached 6,316 trips, averaging over 700 trips per day, a 1.2% increase from the Spring Festival period of 2025. Among them, the number of outbound and inbound airline passengers at Pudong Airport exceeded 1 million, and the number of cruise passengers at Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Port reached 48,000. The growth in passenger flow has driven a consumption boom. During this Spring Festival, Shanghai Customs verified and processed 5,640 outbound tax refunds, averaging 626 per day, a threefold increase compared to the Spring Festival period of 2025.
