Abstract generation in progress

Xcel Energy will be transporting generators and turbines across Northern Colorado this weekend, starting Saturday morning around 7 AM. These slow-moving vehicles, traveling at about 5 MPH, will cause significant traffic delays on I-25, Highway 287, and Colorado Highway 66, particularly near Longmont and Lyons. This is the first of four planned moves as part of Colorado’s 2024 Clean Energy Plan to add 6,100 megawatts of clean generation capacity to the St. Vrain Generating Station.
