Ecuador's largest refinery enters emergency status

Gelonghui March 6 | According to CCTV, on the 5th local time, Ecuador’s National Petroleum Company announced that due to a fire, the country’s largest refinery, the Esmeraldas Refinery, has entered emergency status for a maximum of 60 days. A fire occurred on the 1st at a loading pump at the refinery, causing some operations to halt and equipment damage. The Esmeraldas Refinery is Ecuador’s largest crude oil processing center, with a daily processing capacity of 110,000 barrels of crude oil.
