Microchip Technology has introduced its AEC-Q100 Grade 2-qualified SAM9X75D5M System-in-Package (SiP) for automotive Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs). This new SiP, featuring an Arm926EJ-S processor and 512 Mbit DDR2 SDRAM, is designed to simplify PCB design for applications like digital cockpit clusters and HVAC controls. It offers a balance of cost, performance, and power efficiency by combining MPU processing, high memory density, and MCU familiarity in a single package, reducing routing complexity and mitigating DDR memory supply volatility.
