US media: A Russian oil tanker is granted clearance by the US to head to Cuba

The U.S. Coast Guard on the 29th allowed a Russian oil tanker loaded with crude oil to sail toward Cuban ports, helping to avoid a potentially escalating confrontation between the U.S. and Russia. According to reports, the Russian oil tanker is carrying about 730,000 barrels of crude oil. It is expected to enter Cuban waters late on the 29th and arrive at its destination—the Port of Matanzas, Cuba—on the 31st. These crude oil shipments are expected to temporarily ease Cuba’s energy tensions. (Xinhua)
