On March 30, according to the Financial Times, despite President Trump’s threats to seize Iran’s oil production rights, he emphasized that indirect negotiations with Iran through a ‘special envoy’ from Pakistan are progressing smoothly. When asked whether a ceasefire agreement and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz could be reached in the coming days, Trump declined to provide specific details. He stated, ‘We have about 3,000 targets left to bomb—having already bombed 13,000 targets—plus several thousand more to execute. An agreement is expected to be reached soon.’ Last week, Trump mentioned that Iran had allowed 10 oil tankers flying the Pakistani flag to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, calling it ‘a gift to the White House.’ He noted that this number has now increased to 20 tankers, with the first batch already en route, ‘sailing right through the center of the strait.’ He also stated that Iranian Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf had personally authorized the passage of these tankers.
