Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference "District Mayor Reception Room": Fengtai, Beijing, 24 million square meters of industrial space "waiting to be filled"

On March 26, at the 2026 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference “Mayor’s Reception Room” event site, Fengtai District Deputy Mayor Cui Xianghua sat down with representatives of universities, science and technology achievements transformation projects from outside Beijing, and companies with intended plans to land, to discuss cooperation and development.

At the scene, Fengtai showcased its “hub advantages” and “spatial dividends. ” As a district that supports the capital’s scarce “incremental space” in the central urban area, by 2035 it will add 24 million square meters of industrial space, so that high-quality projects won’t lack land and great companies won’t lack space.

“Top in the city in 2025 construction and installation investment amount, top in the city in the number of newly established companies, and top in the city in the total sales area of commercial housing.” Cui Xianghua used three “tops” to describe Fengtai’s hard strength. “We are fully committed to building a hub cluster for pilot test platforms. We welcome all kinds of innovation platforms and pilot test platforms to settle in Fengtai.”

Fengtai has built an industrial policy support system of “1 overall guiding program plus 22 special policy measures.” A billion-yuan-level industrial investment fund matrix patiently stands ready as patient capital for “investing early and investing small.” The “8 major functional clusters,” “22 distinctive districts,” and “66 professional parks” will allow great projects to move in “with their bags.” It has also completed the city’s first “international talent hub”… one pragmatic initiative after another conveys Fengtai’s firm determination to be the strongest backer for business development.

During the pitching session, six science and technology achievements transformation projects and companies with intended plans to land, from universities and outside Beijing, took turns to make pitches. They cover multiple cutting-edge fields such as intelligent equipment, smart cities, medical and health, and green low-carbon. There are early projects for multi-medium navigation aircraft originating from university academicians’ teams; there are also mature, intended-to-land projects in fields such as smart water utilities and industrial robots. There are projects seeking to land in scenarios such as smart healthcare and smart cities. R&D facilities, industrial funds, application scenarios, market expansion, investment and financing support… the needs put forward by enterprises are specific and practical, and the responses on site are equally direct and no-nonsense.

Cui Xianghua said: “The door to Fengtai’s reception room is always open. We sincerely look forward to more innovative entities coming in, staying, and taking root!”
