People’s Finance News, 31 March: The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and nine other departments issued the “Action Plan for Promoting Innovative Development of the Internet of Things Industry (2026—2028).”

The plan proposes that by 2028, new technologies, new products, and new models in the Internet of Things will continue to emerge, the industry’s innovation capability will be continuously strengthened, breakthroughs will be made in key technologies such as sensing, networks and communications, data processing, and security, and the intelligent level of terminals and platforms will be significantly improved. It also calls for the development and formulation of more than 50 advanced and applicable standards, the cultivation and creation of application areas with 10 billion-level connections and 15 hundred-million-level connections. The number of Internet of Things terminal connections is striving to reach a scale of 10 billion, and the core industry scale of the Internet of Things is expected to break through 3.5 trillion yuan.
