People’s Finance and Information reported on April 5 that, on April 5, the governor of Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Gleb Nikitin, said that debris from a Ukrainian drone strike fell and caused a thermal power plant and two oil refineries in the oblast to catch fire; the fires have already been put out. Preliminary information shows that the drone attack did not cause any casualties. Nikitin wrote on social media on the 5th that Russia’s air defense forces had shot down 30 Ukrainian drones over the industrial area in the Kstovo District of the oblast on the evening of the 4th. The fragments from the downed drones affected two facilities of Lukoil, a Russian energy company, and sparked fires. At present, the fire has been brought under control. Nikitin said the attack also caused damage to a thermal power plant and some residential buildings to varying degrees. (CCTV News)
