But there was a lady who was known as a crypto
Queen... You don't want to make this mistake too... Read & Learn:
The Scam of a Coin:
Led by the enigmatic Ruja Ignatova, who earned the nickname "Cryptoqueen," Ignatova wove a Ponzi scheme that deceived more than 3 million people and left a trail of financial devastation in its wake.
Charisma and False Promises: Luring Investors into the OneCoin Trap
Ignatova, a charismatic Oxford-educated businesswoman, presented OneCoin as a revolutionary cryptocurrency poised to eclipse Bitcoin.
It painted a picture of a decentralized, exploitable digital asset, backed by a thriving ecosystem and promised investors exorbitant returns. However, it was a carefully constructed web of lies.
Writings on the wall:
OneCoin lacked the fundamental characteristics of a true cryptocurrency. It had no underlying blockchain technology, no verifiable mining process, and no real-world application.
Instead, it operated like a classic Ponzi scheme, where early investors received money from later recruits. The illusion of profitability was maintained by manipulating the value of the price.
Feeding the Fire: A Web of Exaggeration and Manipulation
Ignatova's charm and persuasive performances were only part of the equation. A network of multi-level marketing (MLM) promoters aggressively pushed OneCoin, often targeting vulnerable people with promises of financial freedom.
Lavish conferences, celebrity endorsements, and social media buzz further fueled the frenzy.
As authorities began investigating OneCoin, cracks began to appear. In the face of increasing scrutiny, in October 2017, Ignatova boarded a private jet from Sofia to Athens and has not been seen since.
The Aftermath:
The OneCoin scam left a trail of financial ruin. Estimates suggest that investors lost more than $4 billion, with many facing life-changing consequences.
