OpenClaw AI "Lobster" Soaring in Popularity, Hardware Devices Face Price Increases and Shortages

Gate News Report, March 12 — According to CCTV Finance, as the popularity of OpenClaw AI intelligent agents (commonly known as “Lobster”) continues to rise, related hardware devices are experiencing price hikes and shortages. During a visit to Shenzhen Huaqiangbei Electronics World, reporters found that within 20 minutes, five or six groups of customers inquired about hardware compatible with OpenClaw. Some consumers traveled from Guizhou specifically to purchase, but many stores showed out of stock. Wholesalers stated that device prices have increased by about 1,000 yuan from the previous 3,000-plus yuan.

Additionally, the “Lobster craze” is impacting the AI hardware product ecosystem. Several manufacturers are actively trying to integrate their products with OpenClaw, including smart terminals, AI glasses, smart home devices, and learning machines. An AI hardware solution provider mentioned that at the start of this year, they already observed a trend of hardware industry integration with “Lobster.”

Meanwhile, discussions about the safety risks of “raising lobsters” have also emerged, with authorities issuing safety warnings one after another. “Uninstalling Lobster” has become a new business trend.
