POAP announces that starting March 16, it will transition into maintenance mode and will no longer actively develop new features.

Gate News: On March 13, the official POAP platform announced that due to growth limitations and the inability to expand into broader infrastructure, the platform will switch to maintenance mode starting March 16. At that time, new issuers will no longer have access to the issuance interface, but existing issuers can continue using current tools; created POAPs will remain intact, and collectors’ interfaces will remain unaffected; APIs and existing integrations will continue to operate, but active development will cease, and some operations may slow down due to reduced resources. POAP stated that running the platform has made them realize that digital collectibles are still an emerging medium, and existing tools often reflect the constraints of their building systems rather than community needs. Future efforts will focus on developing open standards for collectibles and providing platforms that implement these standards, supporting a truly permissionless creation model in a sustainable way. Previously, in January 2022, POAP completed a $10 million funding round.
