U.S. CFTC and MLB Sign Cooperation Memorandum to Strengthen Professional Baseball Prediction Market Regulation

Gate News: On March 20, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced the signing of its first Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Major League Baseball (MLB), establishing a mechanism for information exchange and collaboration in the field of sports-related prediction markets. The agreement aims to strengthen the protection of the integrity of professional baseball games and collaborate on potential risks in prediction markets, including fraud prevention, market manipulation, and other misconduct. Under the agreement, both parties will share information within a legal framework to respond more quickly to related incidents and identify emerging trends in advance. CFTC Chairman Michael S. Selig stated that this move will help enhance the integrity and resilience of prediction markets and provide regulators with more tools to protect market participants.
