Gate News Announcement, March 24: Claude announced that users can now activate Claude to operate their computers and complete tasks. This feature allows opening applications, browsing the web, filling out spreadsheets, and other desktop operations. Currently in research preview, it only supports macOS and can be used in Claude Cowork and Claude Code. Claude will prioritize using connected integrated applications (such as Slack, Calendar, etc.). When the required tools are not connected, it will request user permission to directly open applications on the screen. Users can assign tasks on their phones and leave, then view the results on their computers. They can also set up recurring tasks, such as having Claude scan emails every morning or pull reports every Friday. This feature is currently available only to Pro and Max users.
