Gate News message, on March 30, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghaei said at a routine press conference on local time March 30 that the actions Iran has taken fall under self-defense and are not aimed at regional countries. He called for the relevant parties to distinguish between matters and emphasized that Iran’s actions should not be seen as hostile behavior toward any country. Baghaei also said that he hopes neighboring countries will comply with their obligations under international law, moral responsibilities, and the principles of good-neighborliness, and will not allow their territory and facilities to be used by the United States and Israel to carry out attacks against neighboring countries. He pointed out that the current conflict is not only aimed at Iran, but may also sow seeds of division and instability for the region’s future; the region’s future should be built on peace, cooperation, and good-neighborliness, which requires all parties to take a cautious stance in the current situation. Baghaei emphasized that Iran should not be expected to exercise restraint unilaterally when it suffers aggression, and said that the U.S. and Israel are making use of the facilities of regional countries to carry out related actions.
