Why did the rally in tech stocks fail to boost Bitcoin? The market focuses on macro factors and the key support level of $83,000.
Recent market data shows that Bitcoin's price continues to underperform compared to tech stocks and the overall U.S. stock market. After the Federal Reserve signaled a dovish rate cut, the Nasdaq Composite Index decreased by about 1.7%, while Bitcoin's decline during the same period widened to 2.4%, indicating that its short-term volatility remains higher than that of traditional risk assets.
From a mid-term perspective, this gap becomes even more evident. Since the second half of 2025, the component stocks of the Nasdaq index have increased by approximately 17%, whereas Bitcoin has fallen by about 15% over the past six months. This contrasts with the market's long-term expectation of Bitcoin as a "high-beta tech asset" and also means that the returns from allocating to the Nasdaq index this year have significantly outperformed those from investing in Bitcoin.
