The first time I voted on a DAO proposal on Snapshot, to be honest, I felt pretty nervous. The moment I clicked that "Approve" button, I suddenly realized—this isn't just some random poll on Weibo; I'm actually influencing a real, functioning economic system.

I’d been holding tokens for over two years, and at first, I didn’t take it seriously. In 2021, there was a proposal about whether to invest in a new blockchain game project. I hardly looked at it and just voted yes. That night, I was browsing the forum and saw a Filipino player post a detailed analysis, thousands of words long—if the game failed, hundreds of people in their area who relied on it for a living could lose their income. I broke out in a cold sweat, realizing I’d almost hurt others with my careless vote.

Since then, I’ve become more cautious. I basically listen to the community voice calls every Wednesday night, even though my English is shaky and I have to use translation software. When a proposal comes up, I don’t rush to vote—I first check what players in Southeast Asia are saying, and I even taught myself a bit of on-chain data analysis. What warms my heart most is that whenever I ask questions in Discord, there are always people from different countries willing to take the time to explain things to me.

Last year, a vote about revenue distribution left a deep impression on me. There were two options: either the guild keeps more money to enhance its risk resistance, or maintain the status quo to ensure player income. I didn’t vote right away—I spent three days researching price levels and living costs in different countries, and in the end, I chose the option that protected player income. After the results were announced, an Indonesian guy sent me a message: “Bro, thanks, you get us.”

Voting is just the beginning. This year, I’ve started thinking about deeper ways to get involved.

That part about the Filipino brother really broke my defenses; I truly realized the feeling that every vote is just a headcount.

This is the true spirit of Web3, not just empty talk.

This is what a real DAO is, not just something where you press a button and you're done.

This is what Web3 should be like, from casually casting a vote to becoming a truly responsible participant. That really hits home.

This story is so real, it snapped me out of that casual, careless investing mindset.

It's true, the weight of that vote is completely different, it's no joke.

Haha, this is the true Web3 spirit, not that get-rich-quick scheme.
