Tonight at 6 PM, SOMI (Somnia) will officially open trading on a major platform. Recently, the speed of new listings on this platform has been impressive, almost daily new faces appear, and the quality is quite solid.
The SOMI project has an interesting focus—it’s a high-performance L1 public chain designed specifically for gaming, social, metaverse, and DeFi scenarios, and it’s EVM compatible. Their MultiStream architecture is said to handle up to millions of TPS, with sub-second finality? That sounds pretty exaggerated. Coupled with compile-level optimizations, their tech stack does seem to have some real substance.
That said, there are already quite a few high-performance L1s out there, and whether the ecosystem can truly take off depends on the application landing later on. Gaming and metaverse sectors indeed demand high performance; if they can support large-scale real-time interactions, there’s some room for imagination.
