It is worth noting that the proposition "Patience is the play" itself presupposes survivor bias, specifically: survivor effect causes us to only see those who have persisted and made money, while ignoring addresses that have also persisted but are still trapped. That said, from the perspective of the Ethereum economic model white paper to verify this statement... indeed, staking rewards mechanisms and network effects reinforce each other.
