The scene at 3 AM might be more intense than you imagine.

A 25 basis point rate cut? That’s pretty much a done deal. But that’s not the key — what really matters is how Powell will "serve the plate." There’s a brewing possibility: he’s handing out sugar (rate cuts) while hinting, "Don’t expect this again next time." This kind of move is called an "hawkish rate cut" by insiders.

Now, the Fed’s situation is quite awkward. On one side, employment data continues to underperform, layoffs are happening one after another, job growth has significantly slowed down, and even officials have openly admitted that employment risks are rising. On the other side? Inflation is still stubborn; core PCE remains stuck at 2.8%, and tariffs are adding fuel to the fire.

Both ends are minefields. So, internally at the Fed, there are reportedly fierce debates, and tonight’s voting might see 3 to 4 dissenting votes — an unusually strong split in recent years. Powell is now like driving in dense fog, every turn of the wheel requires careful consideration.

**What does this mean for the crypto market?**

First, there will definitely be short-term turbulence. Regardless of whether the stance leans dovish or hawkish, the moment expectations are realized could spark waves.

But looking deeper, as soon as the rate cut cycle begins, the underlying logic of liquidity loosening remains unchanged. Money is like water, always seeking the lowest point to flow to — cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin $BTC as digital gold, Ethereum $ETH with its infrastructure ecosystem, and privacy coins like $ZEC are all natural water reservoirs.

Additionally, smart money tends to act early. Besides mainstream assets, community consensus-driven projects and early narrative ecosystems often become sensitive indicators during liquidity outflows, sometimes even exploding first.

Are you planning to stay up all night watching the markets, or set your orders and sleep? Do you think the bull market horn will sound, or will good news be exhausted, leading to a pullback?
BTC-1%
ETH-4.2%
ZEC-3.44%

The hawkish rate cut looks like a candy at first glance, but actually it's setting a trap. It's right for money to flow downward, but whether this wave can reach the crypto circle depends on how the follow-up unfolds—I bet that suppressed assets like ZEC will explode first.

Hawkish rate cuts, this combo punch, I've seen similar moves back in 2017, and I almost got cut open then. Liquidity has really loosened up this time, but don't rush to all-in; first, watch how the 3-hour K-line develops.

Hawkish rate cuts feel like giving the market some medicine but not wanting to get addicted, it's really a heart-pounding game --- Money flows to low-lying areas, and we are just waiting to catch the water --- 3 to 4 votes against, the Fed is really experiencing internal conflict, this is interesting --- The early order placement sleep method, can't bother with the 3 a.m. chaos --- When liquidity loosens, early projects double, but the premise is to bet on the right direction --- Powell's "serving the platter" skills are even tougher than blood-sucking traders --- Weak employment, high inflation—these two conflicts are forcing the Fed to roast on a fire --- I'm tired of the "BTC digital gold" rhetoric, but this time it really feels a bit different --- Short-term volatility is not scary; what I fear is another wave of deep V after all positive news is exhausted --- Privacy coins like ZEC might really become a trend indicator, or just a side runner, I've never really understood

Hawkish rate cuts are truly a dead end, giving a sweet taste but also putting a shackle on it. When liquidity loosens, it depends on who can run faster. Should have sold in the morning if I had known earlier.

The hawkish interest rate cuts are basically like giving the market a drug—feeding it sugar while claiming there's no next dose. This tactic is truly brilliant.
