The recent explosion of news is quite intense—The WeChat account of a certain top exchange's co-CEO He Yi was compromised today (the 10th).

What was the first thing the hacker did after gaining control? Directly promoting obscure meme coins @MUBARA@ in her Moments. As a result, the coin price surged instantly, catching retail investors to buy the dip, while the big players immediately dumped their holdings and left. Classic harvest scheme, executed in one go.

He Yi’s former boss, the platform Gate and others are all familiar with CZ, who immediately came out to clarify: "Don’t believe it! He Yi’s WeChat was hacked, and don’t touch the coins sent by the scammer." He also added: "The security protections of these Web2 social platforms are really weak. Everyone be cautious (Stay safu)."

He Yi herself later explained—she hasn’t been using WeChat much anymore. This time, she was targeted because she had already abandoned the linked phone number, which was exploited to forcefully recover her account.

This is not the first time. Not long ago, TRON founder Justin Sun’s WeChat was also hacked. It seems that no matter how strong you are on-chain, once the Web2 defense line slackens, you can still be completely compromised.

Lookonchain has already started analyzing the on-chain fund flows…

Wow, this harvesting process runs smoothly... Basically a classic sandwich, but replaced the mempool with the social circle, and the gas war with a psychological battle. He Yi's vulnerability in recovering the phone number is indeed weak, but just consider this arbitrage opportunity—the FOMO psychology of retail investors is the best liquidity pool.

It's the same trick again. Web2 defenses really can't hold up, and He Yi has also fallen for it this time. I've seen too many dramas of pumping and dumping, retail investors need to be more cautious.

It's the same old trick again. Web2 defenses are truly terrible, with a bunch of influencers falling for it. He Yi was lucky this time, at least not crashing her own coins, or else trust would have dropped to zero.

He Yi is now basically socially dead. The Web2 defense line really let us down; the big shots need to be more vigilant.

Once again, it's the same old trick. Truly impressive. Web2's defense line is really concerning.
