Someone asked me why we set our European headquarters in Malta?
To be honest, this wasn't a rash decision. Malta has been supporting the blockchain industry for several years, and its policy friendliness is among the best in Europe. More importantly, their crypto regulatory framework started early and has a clear direction, far better than many countries that are still figuring things out as they go.
For a platform like ours that aims to establish roots in the European market, choosing a place that is "both open and regulated" is more important than anything else. Instead of waiting for others to set the rules, it's better to go where the rules are already clear and get started directly.
I'm quite confident in this bet on Malta. After all, the sooner we align with regulations, the more proactive we are.

honestly malta's just where the regulatory arbitrage actually makes sense rn... early movers who understand incentive design always win this game

Malta's move is indeed much better than some places in China that are feeling their way across the river; they have already clarified the rules.
Wait, does this mean that compliant early birds have a reason to thrive? Got it.
Honestly, if you want to establish roots in Europe, choosing an "open yet not overly restrictive" place really makes things easier.

Malta is playing this move quite cleverly, leading far ahead of those who are still struggling with regulation.

Malta's strategy is indeed clever; they've long recognized the potential of the blockchain sector.
Those who entered early always profit.
