#加密市场观察 Retail participation weakens, making sustainable upward movement in the crypto market difficult to achieve
Matrixport released a chart today stating, “Currently, retail participation in the crypto market remains relatively low. Taking South Korea, where retail share has historically been high, as an example, the current trading volume is significantly lower compared to the peaks of 2023 and December 2024: back then, daily trading volumes could reach billions of dollars, whereas now it is barely around $1 billion, reflecting that retail funds mainly engaged in short-term trading have not yet noticeably flowed back in. In this market environment, some newly launched or expanding trading platforms continue to struggle to see sustained growth in trading volume. Some previously highly anticipated listing plans have also noticeably slowed down. Without broader retail re-entry, even if the Federal Reserve chooses to cut interest rates later, monetary policy easing alone will be insufficient to trigger a truly sustainable rally. To put it more plainly, without trading volume, market sentiment cannot accumulate; without sentiment, trading volume cannot expand.”
