Traditional finance has been hit hard by Web3 once again!
Pineapple Finance recently made a major move—directly bringing a mortgage asset pool worth billions onto the Injective blockchain. If this had happened before, it would be hard to imagine.
Anyone who has taken out a mortgage knows that pain, right? Piles of paper documents signed until the hands go numb, repeated confirmations through intermediary processes, settlement cycles often taking half a month or more. Now, all these assets are digitized and uploaded to the chain, with every transaction verifiable in real-time on the blockchain, and smart contracts executing automatically, eliminating countless middle steps.
Why choose Injective? The technical advantages are clear—zero Gas fee transactions combined with millisecond-level settlement speeds make large-scale asset migrations effortless. Pineapple Finance has also explicitly stated that INJ will be their long-term strategic core. This bet on DeFi infrastructure is very clear.
Even more interesting is their future plan: they intend to launch tokenized mortgage products. In simple terms, mortgages worth millions can now be divided into small shares and circulated on the chain. Ordinary investors can buy a portion of mortgage rights for just a few hundred dollars, and institutions can also allocate real assets through this method to earn stable returns. Lower barriers, increased liquidity, and naturally, a more active market.
Currently, the first batch of assets worth hundreds of millions has been deployed on-chain, with the entire process open and transparent. Traditional finance’s "heavy asset" business of mortgages is being redefined by blockchain technology.
How much potential does this multi-billion asset on-chain bring to INJ? Can mortgage tokenization truly succeed?

Oh wow, traditional finance must be panicking now. Zero Gas fees and millisecond-level settlement. INJ is really taking off this time.
Pineapple's move, I really admire it. Directly on-chain with hundreds of billions in assets, a few hundred bucks can get a slice of the pie. They’ve got liquidity figured out.
But to be honest, how long can this system last? It still depends on how regulators act.

Hundreds of billions in assets on the chain? Sounds impressive, but how many projects can actually pull it off?
This time, Pineapple Finance chose INJ for this, and the zero gas fee is indeed a bit of a highlight, but I’m not sure about the liquidity.
Can small retail investors make money from mortgage tokenization, or will they get cut again?
Is this wave of INJ really a good opportunity or just short-term hype? It depends on the subsequent implementation.
The path of digitalization in traditional finance feels like it’s being talked about every year, but we haven’t seen any truly large-scale projects yet.
