#美联储降息 Recently, many people have been messaging me about assets being stolen, so I’ve organized a list of practical tips.

$BTC Losing money in $ETH circles usually comes down to three traps: someone getting your seed phrase or private key, accidentally clicking on a phishing website, or being tricked by fake customer service.

**A few dead rules for wallet security:**

For trading or frequent interactions, always connect a hardware wallet. This way, your private key stays offline, never exposed to the network. Using multiple browser profiles is also okay once configured properly.

The most important thing is environment isolation. You don’t necessarily need to buy a dedicated device; a virtual machine is enough. Use VMware or your system’s built-in Hyper-V, install a clean OS, and only run the wallet, browser, and anti-phishing plugins inside. Turn off clipboard sharing. Even if your host gets hacked, your assets inside the VM remain safe.

Never take photos or screenshots of your private key or seed phrase, and avoid storing them in cloud storage. The safest way is to manually write them on paper and store it in different places. If you even suspect it might be leaked, don’t hesitate—generate a new wallet and transfer your assets immediately.

Hardware wallets are for long-term holdings. If your funds grow and you don’t interact frequently, buying one is worth it. But if you’re someone who signs transactions blindly every day, a hardware wallet won’t fix your careless mistakes.

**Be cautious with social media:**

Turn off private messages on Discord. When contacting customer support, only trust two channels: the official ticket system or community moderators who have been active for several days. Anyone reaching out to you privately is probably a scam.

**Details on status and tools:**

When you’re tired, drunk, or upset, don’t touch your wallet. The brother from ShenYu lost over a billion assets due to a moment of carelessness—that’s a lesson that runs deep.

Stop using the most basic MetaMask. Choose a wallet with built-in anti-phishing features—an extra layer of protection never hurts.

Before clicking any links, always navigate from the official website or official social accounts. Don’t search directly on search engines. Use the system’s built-in input method—avoid third-party keyboards. If you encounter accounts that constantly chat with you about “mining pools,” block them immediately.

There’s no 100% security, but following these tips can help you avoid 99% of the traps. The cost of being careless is only realized after a loss, and by then, it’s too late.

Trying to advise on safety again? Check their on-chain footprints, and you'll see that only a few of these people are actually following the rules...

The thing with Shenyu was really terrifying. I was careless for a moment and lost everything, which served as a big wake-up call for me.

Really, I've heard the story of that legendary fish so many times that I got tired of it. I was a bit confused and lost track... We can't learn from that.

Wow, I still remember the incident where God Fish lost over a billion, and I was upset for a moment and then it was gone. Truly incredible.

It's the same old story. I just want to ask how many people can actually do it? Especially those who keep their private keys written on paper and stored in different places. It sounds simple, but in practice... Forget it, hardware wallets are still more reliable.

Haha, the matter with Shenyu was indeed a lesson. I now also use a virtual machine isolation setup; I prefer to be a bit more trouble than to lose everything.

Shenyu's wave really couldn't be held back, and he lost it in an instant. We need to learn from this.
