How do "Ownership Tokens" on Solana address DAO pain points? MetaDAO's new exploration

Abstract generation in progress

【Blockchain Rhythm】At the Solana Breakpoint Conference, MetaDAO co-founder Proph3t shared an interesting idea—building a true ownership mechanism on Solana through “ownership tokens.”

This system mainly consists of two parts. One is governance and market oversight, but it doesn’t follow the extreme route of traditional DAOs. It only requires 2 to 4 proposals per year to operate, such as issuing new tokens for OTC financing. Interestingly, participation isn’t just simple voting but expressing opinions through transactions—this ensures liquidity while allowing stakeholders to genuinely participate.

The other is legal structure design, which is more hardcore. The founders transfer intellectual property rights to an entity that directly points to the on-chain market system. In other words, if the project ultimately succeeds or gets acquired, the profits go directly to token holders. The founders can’t manipulate secretly or withdraw directly—fundamentally preventing rug pulls.

Proph3t emphasizes that this “ownership token” model addresses common pain points of traditional DAOs, providing crypto projects with real legal protection while enabling true ownership transfer. Compared to the governance chaos seen in many current projects, this innovation is indeed worth paying attention to.

The design of "trade as voting" is pretty good; it's much more reliable than the one vote per person system.

Hey, wait a minute. How can we ensure that the voting logic for this transaction isn't manipulated by whales...

The idea that trading is a form of voting is still somewhat interesting. Compared to those governance theaters, it's definitely much clearer.

Expressing opinions through trading? That's more genuine than voting. Finally, someone has understood it clearly.
