Crypto circles are never short of legendary stories—some people lose everything overnight, while others repeatedly turn the tide and escape.

Today, let's talk about a solid "slow in, fast out" rolling position strategy. To put it simply, it’s six words: survive first, then grow bigger.

**1. The secrets of choosing coins**

Not all rising coins are opportunities. You need to be able to select:

A genuine breakout with increased volume is a signal—for example, a certain Layer2 token stabilizes above $1.2, with trading volume increasing by over 60% compared to previous periods—that’s an effective breakout;

Follow only the top leaders in the trend—when Layer2 is hot, focus on ARB, OP; during meme season, target DOGE, PEPE; don’t waste energy on small, insignificant coins;

Market cap between $300 million and $800 million—too small can be easily manipulated by big players, too large leaves little room for growth.

My strategy is simple: hold only two coins at a time. Focus your firepower; make your moves precise.

**2. Rolling position logic**

For example, with 200,000 USDT:

Step 1: Test the waters with 60,000—only buy in when breaking key levels with volume. For instance, when PYTH stabilized above $0.8, I entered the position, setting an 8% stop-loss—never overstay a losing trade;

Step 2: When it gains 40%, add another 80,000—once the trend is confirmed, let profits run and increase your position to expand your gains;

Step 3: When it doubles, invest the remaining 60,000—key rule: don’t add to losing positions; only increase when in profit.

**3. Risk management is the lifeline**

Never allocate more than 30% of your portfolio to a single coin—that’s the baseline;

When a position doubles, immediately withdraw part of the principal and lock it in USDC—don’t think about “putting it all in to double”;

Keep each stop-loss within 6% of total funds; reject the fantasy of "waiting for it to come back."

A real example: last year, after a position doubled, I withdrew 100,000 USDT to secure profits, while the remaining gains kept rolling over.

**4. From 8,000 to 150,000—real case**

A trader strictly followed the discipline of "sell when down 5%, take half profits when up 20%," and in six months, grew 8,000 USDT into 150,000.

Ultimately, making money isn’t complicated. What’s tricky is discipline—staying calm when the market is crazy, and keeping cool when everyone else panics.

The hardest part in crypto isn’t finding opportunities, but resisting temptation to act impulsively. Look less at the K-lines, think more about planning. Sometimes, slowing down is the fastest way.

A scientific strategy always beats blind all-in.

Discipline is easier to talk about than to practice. I'm the kind of person who wants to double everything as soon as it rises by 20%, but I always end up losing.

In essence, it's about the design of risk control mechanisms, and it's a matter of who can hold the 6% stop-loss red line. Most people die because of the words "wait a little longer," and once the game balance is broken, there's no turning back.

Discipline is easy to talk about, but few can truly practice it... I am a living example of the opposite.

Discipline is really the hardest part. I often get overwhelmed by FOMO myself. It's easy to say, but hard to do.

Discipline — it's easy to talk about but really hard to do. When the market goes crazy, you just want to go all in.
