This has to start from the supply side. Each halving reduces mining rewards, plus there are always external factors to stir things up—tech hype, influx of capital, big institutions entering—the demand side then explodes, and the cycle begins.
Looking back at the history: in 2013, the community’s hardcore fans pushed it forward, but a major Mt.Gox incident directly suppressed it; in 2017, the ICO boom drove prices sky-high, but regulatory crackdowns quickly cooled things down; in 2021, pandemic liquidity injections + institutional bottom-fishing, followed by crashes and rate hikes, jointly brought this cycle down.
By 2025, the situation has indeed changed. Institutions are steadily entering with ETFs, reaching new highs even before the halving, while retail participation has cooled off.
So, is the cycle dead? No. It has simply evolved from retail frenzy to institutional steady progress. $BTC $ETH $SOL and these assets are still moving forward at this pace.
