S&P 500 reached fresh all-time highs, posting a solid +3% advance from VIX expiration through Christmas. The chart suggests strong momentum heading into year-end, with volatility compression creating a favorable backdrop for risk assets. Equity traders monitoring this pattern may find it relevant for broader market positioning.

It's the same old story... Volatility compression is just setting me up. We've hit new highs so many times, and every time they say "strong trend." I actually believed this technical analysis last time, bought the dip at a high, and got stuck. Now I'm still waiting for the MACD golden cross, it's hilarious.

ngl the volatility compression narrative is getting taxonomically murky—been seeing this exact setup like four times in the past eighteen months and the outcomes weren't... statistically correlated to what the algo bros were calling it. per my analysis, that +3% window is cherry-picked timing, which is lowkey an evolutionary dead-end for risk positioning imo

VIX is compressing this wave, is it really time to buy the dip?

People who go all-in with a smile probably aren't too unlucky, just their wallet is worse.

VIX has dropped, and all the money is flowing in.

VIX has to fall before it can rise. Is this wave stable? Is the year-end surge and sell-off drama happening again?

Wow, another new high? The rally at the end of the year is really quite fierce.
