🔒 Ripple has blocked 700 million XRP
Ripple started 2026 with a planned unlock of 1 billion XRP, but the majority of tokens have not yet entered the market. The company has again sent 700 million XRP (70%) into long-term escrow, maintaining control over the supply.
The remaining 300 million XRP are intended to support liquidity and ecosystem development. Unused tokens are typically returned to escrow to avoid market pressure. After the update, 65.78 billion XRP are in circulation, with another 34.18 billion XRP remaining locked.
🪙 Despite the impressive numbers, the market reacted cautiously. The XRP price fluctuates around $1.9, and the moderate growth is more likely attributed to external factors—tax relaxations in Japan and the launch of the first XRP ETF—rather than the escrow unlock itself.
