⚠️ MetaMask Users Beware: New 2FA Phishing Scam Emerges

A recent wave of targeted scams against MetaMask is actively circulating, currently affecting hundreds of EVM chain wallets. The average loss per victim is under $2,000, but all stolen funds are funneled to the same suspicious address, with total losses exceeding $107,000, and the amount continues to grow.

The attack methods are quite cunning—scammers impersonate MetaMask officials, sending phishing emails with a New Year theme that appear to be a "forced upgrade." The emails feature a fox avatar wearing a party hat to deceive users, with sensational headlines like "Happy New Year."

At this stage, special caution should be exercised with such emails. Official channels will never ask you to input your private key or seed phrase via email, nor will they force pop-up verification windows. If you receive similar messages, the safest approach is to delete or mark them as spam.

Coming with this again? I knew there was something fishy about the New Year’s greeting email. Who would believe the party hat fox?

Another useless innovation, scammers are actually using party hat foxes for phishing. How much is this idea worth?

Damn, it's another scam... I was wondering why my wallet has been prompting so frequently lately. --- Party hat fox? Truly amazing, this scammer is quite creative haha. --- $107,000... How many people must have been scammed? No wonder my friend asked me the day before yesterday how his private key was stolen. --- Just delete it, don't click on any emails, retirement savings can't be messed with. --- There are so many scams on MetaMask now, the risk feels pretty high. --- I just want to know how these people got users' emails; the problem isn't with the emails, right? --- The most dangerous thing in these situations is clicking in and having no way back. Better to be cautious.

Here we go again with this set? I'm already tired of it. As soon as the email arrives, I directly throw it into the trash, no discussion.

Fox wearing a party hat? Haha, this scammer is quite imaginative. Honestly, has anyone really been fooled by such emails?
