The phone vibrated at 1 a.m., breaking the silence of the night. A friend from Zhejiang called with a voice message, her voice trembling with tears: "It's over, all 20,000 USDT of principal wiped out overnight."

I pulled up her trading records and took a look—she had opened a full-position 10x leverage long with 19,500 USDT, without even setting a stop-loss. This kind of "win doubles, lose resets to zero" mentality is all too common in the crypto world. Many believe that full-position trading is the way to maximize returns, thinking since it's their own money, losing it is no big deal—they can just earn it back later. But reality is often cruel: full-position trading is actually the most dangerous approach.

**Why do liquidations happen? The real culprit is the position size, not leverage**

Many people blame leverage itself for liquidations, but that's a misconception. The root cause is actually heavy position sizing.

For example: with 1,000 USDT in capital, using 900 USDT to open a 10x leverage position, a 5% adverse move would liquidate you; but if you only used 100 USDT to open the same 10x position, it would take a 50% adverse move to trigger liquidation. My friend put 95% of her capital into this position, and with 10x leverage, a small correction was enough to wipe her out completely.

Cryptocurrency markets are inherently volatile, and with leverage, the risk doesn't grow linearly—it expands exponentially. Leverage itself doesn't create risk out of thin air; it simply amplifies your existing risk exposure infinitely. Without proper position management as a safety net, any negative news or sudden market shock can instantly wipe you out.

The key isn't how many times you leverage, but how much of your principal you're willing to risk. That is what truly protects your account.

Tsk, yet another classic full-margin 10x leverage move, truly impressive. I wouldn’t even dare to spend my three kids’ milk money like that. This sister must be a serious gambler. Position management is essentially the survival bottom line in a bear market; not even setting stop-losses... Isn’t that just courting death? --- Going all-in at 19,500? Damn, that’s like not taking your principal seriously at all. In my opinion, leverage is like arbitrage splitting; if played well, it’s the secret to wealth. If played poorly, it’s an instant wipeout. The key point is—position size determines life or death, leverage is just an amplifier. --- Getting out at 5% loss? I feel sorry for her just looking at that risk exposure. The folks in crypto really, they only understand what safety means after losing everything once. They dare to go all-in on unverified contract code? Even Buddha can’t persuade them. --- 10x full-margin long without a stop-loss? That’s what gamblers do. No wonder they get educated by the market. I usually only use 2-3x leverage; the rest of the position stays empty, waiting for opportunities. Living through a bear market like this feels more secure. --- Oh dear, another big account wiped out. I’ve seen this kind of news many times, but the key is that people still haven’t learned their lesson. Next time, it’ll probably be full-margin leverage again. Position management is truly more important than anything else, more effective than studying K-line charts for hours.

Sigh, it's the same story of full-position dreams shattering again... Really, how many times have I said this about position management? The retail investors are still retail investors. When market sentiment gets heated, everyone forgets everything. 20,000 USDT wiped out overnight, isn't this just the opposite of "a gentle lady, a gentleman's match"—originally aiming for a double, but ended up being kicked out of the market directly, hilarious. Not setting stop-losses... how should I put it, no matter how good on-chain data looks, it can't cure greed. Using 95% of your position with 10x leverage, I predicted someone would fall into this trap long ago. It's just that the market will never teach people.

Full position with 10x leverage, they really want to go to zero --- Lost 20,000 USDT overnight, you must have such a ruthless mindset to press that button --- Her operation is definitely not the fault of leverage, it's purely her own self-destructive behavior --- All in 95% of the principal, and no stop-loss? There are too many people like this in the crypto world --- The key is indeed position management, but what's the use of saying that? When greed takes over, you simply can't listen --- A small pullback and everything is wiped out, now that's real risk explosion --- Every time I see stories like this, I want to curse. Why go all-in? --- Crying and calling at 1 AM, how desperate must that be? --- The phrase "risk doesn't grow linearly" is correct, but greedy people simply can't get it --- I've seen similar cases too, thinking about winning once to double up, but ending up losing everything and going to zero

95% full position, oh my god, how ruthless this guy must be, not even setting stop-loss... There are indeed quite a few gamblers' mindsets like this in the crypto circle.
