"Federal Reserve Mouthpiece": Private sector employment growth rate hits worst record since 2003

On January 9, Nick Timiraos, a reporter from The Wall Street Journal known as the “Fed whisperer,” analyzed the US employment data released today for 2025. “In 2025, private sector employers added an average of only 61,000 jobs per month, marking the weakest year for private sector employment growth since the so-called ‘jobless recovery’ of 2003, when the economy was not in recession.”
