Contracts are really the most exploitative thing in the crypto world.

Some people talk to me about K-line patterns, position control, trading discipline—just listen, because essentially you're still gambling. Those who take profits are lucky gamblers, those who get liquidated are unlucky gamblers. No exceptions.

But when I say this, some people are unhappy: gambling is everywhere in life, opening a store is gambling, working a job is gambling, even in the A-shares market it's gambling. Indeed, anything risky can be called gambling.

But there's an essential difference here.

Let's talk about spot trading. Suppose you buy Bitcoin with 120,000 yuan right at the top of a bull market—the worst timing. Then you hold on and keep investing regularly for four years. Even if Bitcoin crashes to 30,000 yuan, your average cost will be around 40,000 to 50,000 yuan. When the next bull market comes and hits new highs, your profit will not only double but you'll also be able to sleep peacefully.

Why are contracts so harmful? For one reason: the cost of trial and error is simply unaffordable.

Many people think losing a little money doesn't matter, just as a way to refine their trading system and mental resilience. I want to tell you, you might have misunderstood. You're not using money to test and error—you are risking your life in trading. You're gambling with your health, your mental state, your family relationships, your spiritual world, and the quality of your entire future.

Think back to the time you were trading contracts: can you really maintain a healthy body and a positive mindset?

Think this through, and the choice will become clear.

The phrase " risking my life in trading" really hit me, honestly. --- Contracts are just a harvesting machine, to be honest. --- Inability to sleep, skyrocketing blood pressure, family members annoyed with you—these are the real costs of trading contracts. --- Holding spot for four years and sleeping peacefully vs. daily heart attacks with contracts—which one would you choose? --- The cost of trial and error is simply uncalculable because you're losing your entire life. --- I've heard too many say "this time I will turn things around," but what happened? All gone. --- DCA in spot trading is really rewarding, but it tests human nature too much. --- Contract traders say they are "refining their mindset," I just laugh. --- When your body collapses and your money is gone, that's the real margin call.

Damn, that's so realistic. I really didn't sleep well when I was trading futures back then. Really, it's not about losing money, it's the anxiety of potentially getting liquidated at any moment that consumes you completely. Spot trading is so much better, rest assured, the returns are pretty good. I regret it to death, futures are just a trap. You're right, I should have switched everything to spot long ago. How many four-year periods can life have? Futures are really not worth it. Futures are just the perfect disguise for gambling. All that talk about trading systems is nonsense. This is the real truth the crypto world should hear. Too many people are still fooling themselves into thinking they'll take profits.

The phrase "Trading with your life" hits home. Those who have done contracts understand that feeling; it's really not just about losing money.

Spot dollar-cost averaging sleeps soundly vs. futures daily insomnia, no matter how you calculate it, it's a loss.

Damn, you're so right. Contracts are like vampires. --- Holding spot for four years and sleeping peacefully, but contracts make you lose hair in just three days. That's the difference. --- That part about body and mindset really hit me. I was exhausted during those two months I was doing contracts. --- I've heard too many claims of "I'm refining my trading system," but it's really just inability to accept losses and keep gambling. --- Why do people have to risk their lives to try out mistakes? I don't understand. --- So, don't listen to any K-line masters. There are only two choices: sleep with spot or gamble with contracts. --- The only difference between gamblers and investors is time. Spot gives you this thing, but contracts don't give it at all.

I've been through it all, the 2018 wave of contract liquidations, how many people around me went from arrogance to depression, and they're still quitting gambling. The phrase "trading with your life" is not an exaggeration.

I truly agree with the saying "Trading with your life," everyone who has done contracts understands the feeling of insomnia. --- To put it simply, a contract is just betting whether your heart can withstand it. Some people can lose a month's salary and still sleep well? I really admire that. --- Wait, your logic has a problem—spot trading for four years of fixed investment and contracts are not the same thing at all, comparing them is a bit forced. --- Health, mental state, family relationships, it seems exaggerated... but indeed some people change completely because of contracts, even their eyes look different. --- That's exactly why I quit long ago; now I just do fixed investments and sleep peacefully. --- The inability to bear the cost of trial and error hit a nerve—contracts essentially amplify your mistakes with leverage. No matter how good the technology is, you will die. --- All my friends who have been liquidated have not been happy; this is not alarmist talk. --- So now I only watch spot trading; the psychological shadow from contracts will take a long time to get over.

That's why I only stick to spot trading now. I tried trading contracts once, and it kept me up all night. I won't touch it again.
