When conditions are favorable, heaven makes the dragon soar for ten thousand miles, capable of summoning wind and rain, swallowing clouds and spitting fog, and raining down sweet dew, fully displaying his talents.
When being a snake, do not despair or become discouraged because you once were a dragon; after being a dragon, do not feel inferior or insecure because you once were a snake.
The meaning is that when a person is in a low point, they should practice "潜龙勿用" (concealed dragon not in use). When underestimated or lacking ability, they should bow their head and lower their body to work hard to improve themselves. Once the opportunity comes, they should rise without hesitation. A golden qilin is not a creature in the pond; it transforms into a dragon at the slightest wind and cloud.
