Having spent a lot of time in the perpetual contract space, I increasingly realize an unavoidable contradiction: almost all projects are torn between "speed" and "safety."

Fully on-chain DEXs? The funds are indeed in your control, but execution delays and large slippage are annoying. Centralized exchanges? Market orders are executed instantly, speed is unquestionable, but the cost is handing over your assets to the platform—platform risk is always a thorn in the heart. Neither path is perfect, and project teams have to choose between these two unappealing options.

Isn't this just the dilemma of choosing between fish and bear paws? Either choice is uncomfortable.

Uh, isn't this just an eternal trade-off? What else can I choose... CEX is fast, but why are my coins so easily frozen?

Really, this contradiction is exhausting. On-chain is so slow it makes you doubt life, while centralized platforms always want to cut you a slice. No matter which one you choose, it's uncomfortable.

This contradiction indeed cannot be avoided, but to put it simply, it's a game of balancing; no one can have their cake and eat it too.
