(MENAFN- IANS) Hyderabad, Feb 28 (IANS) The makers of director Rahul Sankrityan’s highly anticipated period film, ‘Ranabaali,’ celebrated the wedding of actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna on Saturday by releasing a sneak peek of their wedding song ‘Endhayya Saami’ from the film.
Sharing on their social media pages, Mythri Movie Makers, the production company behind the film, posted the “Special Surprise” and wrote, “Our RANABAALI and JAYAMMA. Together, forever (Heart symbol). Celebrating their love with this special surprise. #EndhayyaSaami – Telugu #YedhayyaSaami – Tamil #EntheKannaala – Malayalam #EnayyaSaami – Kannada #OMereSaajan – Hindi. Ranabaali grand worldwide release on September 11th.”
The Telugu version of the melodious song was composed by Ajay and Atul and performed by Shweta Mohan and Ajay Gogavale. The lyrics were penned by Saraswatiputra Ramajogayya Sastry.
The romantic track features Jayamma arriving at Ranabaali’s home after their wedding.
For those unaware, Vijay Deverakonda plays the role of Ranabaali, while Rashmika Mandanna portrays his wife Jayamma. Arnold Vosloo, best known for his role in ‘The Mummy,’ appears as the antagonist Sir Theodore Hector.
‘Ranabaali’ is being produced on a large scale by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar, with T-Series presenting the film. Set against a British-era backdrop, the movie is being made as a period action drama. Set in the 19th century, it is based on real historical events from 1854 to 1878 and is being developed as a major pan-India project.
Sources claim that ‘Ranabaali’ is inspired by real incidents from the 1850s that have not been documented in mainstream history books. They say it will depict true events from 1850-1900 and aim to showcase incidents that the British misrepresented in history.
It is also reported that ‘Ranabaali’ will not be a biopic or a simple retelling of history but a cinematic reconstruction of an era, built from multiple real accounts, oral histories, and suppressed records.
Following ‘Geetha Govindam’ and ‘Dear Comrade,’ ‘Ranabaali’ will be the third film where Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda appear together as a pair.
