South Korea Lost $4.8M in Seized Crypto, By Leaking the Seed Phrase in a Press Photo!

South Korea's National Tax Service accidentally published an unblurred photo showing a Ledger wallet AND its handwritten seed phrase in an official press release.
Within hours, someone drained 4 million PRTG tokens (~$4.8M) from the wallet.

This is the 3rd crypto custody failure by Korean authorities since January:
🔴 $21M in $BTC lost via phishing at Gwangju Prosecutors' Office
🔴 22 BTC (~$1.4M) vanished from Gangnam Police custody
🔴 $4.8M drained after NTS leaked the seed phrase publicly

Deputy PM Koo Yun-cheol has now ordered a cross-agency probe into how all seized crypto is managed.
The irony? South Korea's Supreme Court just ruled in January that Bitcoin can legally be seized by the state.

Governments want to confiscate your crypto but can't even keep it safe. 🤦‍♂️
Self-custody is not optional. It's survival.
