I argued with a friend who does design all afternoon.


I said the red on the left is obviously brighter.
The red on the right is deep and oppressive.
They are definitely not the same color value.
He couldn't be bothered to argue with me.
He just threw over a pipette tool.

My brain forcibly applied a filter.
It turns out that what the eyes see
is not necessarily the truth.
Just like I thought I was special,
but actually, it's just a good platform.
When the background turns black,
you appear brighter.
When the background is white,
your true nature is revealed.
This picture cured my stubbornness,
but not completely.
At least now I know
some differences
are purely highlighted by the background.
I remove the background,
and I am just average.
This illusion is quite beautiful.
Almost convinced myself.
