Mars Finance reports that according to Cointelegraph, the Irish National Police Criminal Assets Bureau announced that they successfully cracked one of 12 Bitcoin wallets linked to a convicted drug dealer, retrieving 500 Bitcoins worth over $35 million. The wallet owner is Clifton Collins, who was sentenced to five years in prison in 2017 for cultivating and selling marijuana. Collins purchased 6,000 Bitcoins with drug proceeds between 2011 and 2012, storing them across 12 wallets. The keys were printed on an A4 sheet and hidden inside a fishing rod case, but were lost after the landlord cleaned the house. Earlier today, it was also reported that nearly 10 years later, an Irish drug dealer deposited 500 BTC into Coinbase, valued at $35.44 million.
