Google releases the most cost-effective AI video model Veo 3.1 Lite, cutting video generation costs in half
Mars Finance News April 1, Google DeepMind launched the Veo 3.1 Lite video model, the most affordable video generation tool from the company to date. Official data shows that the Lite version’s generation speed remains the same as the Fast version, but the generation cost is less than half. However, the official has not yet explained the specific video-quality differences among the different versions. In terms of usage, the Veo 3.1 Lite video model supports two core functions: text-to-video generation and image-to-video generation. Users can freely choose high-definition image quality in either 720p or 1080p, and it is compatible with both vertical and horizontal aspect ratios. Regarding generation duration, the model offers three specifications: 4 seconds, 6 seconds, and 8 seconds. For fees, the current starting billing standard for 720p quality is 0.05 USD per second. In terms of the target users, the model is currently only available to paid developer users of GOOGle AI Studio. In addition to releasing the new model, Google also announced a reduction in the usage price of its high-performance model Veo 3.1 Fast. Starting April 7, the price for generating 720p and 1080p videos will be reduced to 0.10 USD and 0.15 USD per second, respectively, while 4K videos will be reduced to 0.35 USD per second.
