In February 2026, Bitcoin's price experienced a significant decline. When I looked at CoinGlass data, I found that during this month, Bitcoin's price dropped by approximately 14.94%. This is the third worst monthly performance since 2013. Typically, Bitcoin gains around 11% in February on average, but this time it was the exact opposite.
Ethereum's story is even worse. On February 21, 2026, and throughout the entire month, Ethereum lost 19.81%. This is the third worst performance since 2017. Its historical average in February is 8.53%, so this loss is quite substantial.
In short, February 2026 was a tough month for both major cryptocurrencies. Both Bitcoin and Ethereum fell far behind their usual performance.
