According to the Phnom Penh Post, the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) has for the first time allowed commercial banks and payment institutions to provide services involving Category 1 encryption assets, including guaranteed or stable Cryptocurrency, but unsecured Cryptocurrency such as BTC is still prohibited. The directive aims to regulate the operation and business involving Digital Money, and all commercial banks or payment institutions wishing to provide encryption-related services must obtain NBC's prior approval.
