In this book that meets the needs of the times, Lama Tsongkhapa discusses in depth how to understand the true meaning of life, how to accept death, and how to help the dying and the deceased.
With life, there is naturally death, and everyone will eventually face death. While we are still alive, we can deal with death in two ways: ignore it or confront our own death, reduce the potential pain that death may bring by clear thinking about death. However, neither of these methods can truly overcome death. As a Buddhist, I see death as a natural process. As long as I am alive on this earth, death is inevitable. Once I realize that I cannot escape death, there is nothing to worry about. I prefer to see death as changing into new clothes when the old ones are worn out, rather than an end. However, death is unpredictable: we do not know when or how we will die. Therefore, it is necessary for us to make some preparations before death actually occurs.
